The Annual Tour of the Marshes is always held in November and is a one day ridewhich normally starts in the Whitstable area before going off into the heartland of the ‘Marshes’ along very quiet roads. The ride is relatively easy as no one is flying at that time of the year, we also try and restrict numbers on the event to 30-34. After a short(ish) ride of no more than 30-32 miles we stop for a celebratory Christmas meal at the Grove Ferry Inn (link to the right).

The meal is always pre-booked in advance and once you have committed to go a menu will be sent to you to select from.

The majority of people on the ride normally stay the night at the Premier Inn (Whitstable) and we can normally negotiate a very good overnight rate of circa £15-£18 per person (shared room), after getting back from the ride people have a quick shower etc and meet up in the bar. If you only wish to either go just on the ride or do not wish to stay overnight this is not a problem, just advise Mike when registering interest in the event.

As the ride is in November it is vital that you have lights on your bike for the ride back from the Grove Ferry Inn to the hotel if staying for the meal.

Directions to Premier Inn: From London A2 onto M2, then A299 and B2205 to Whitstable, the hotel is before 2nd roundabout. Next to the Long Reach Beefeater.

Sat Nav Directions: CT5 3DB

"The Tour of The Marshes (the "Trip") is a friend's trip and not a company sponsored event, no insurance cover has been arranged by the company to cover the Trip. By participating in the Trip each participant acknowledges that they will be in the same position as if they were on a private excursion arranged by and for themselves. Each participant undertakes that they have arranged, and are covered by their own personal 3rd party liability insurance which extends to the activities they will participate in and the geographies covered whilst on the Trip. In addition personal medical insurance and at least an EHIC card is highly recommended along with such other insurances they require to cover themselves for the risks associated with their participation in the Trip. There is no obligation on behalf of the organisers or any official to verify that a participant is in compliance with their insurance undertaking or to verify that the level of insurance cover is adequate. Participants acknowledge that: 1. they are participating in the Trip entirely at their own risk; 2. that they will at all times be responsible for their own actions; 3. that no liability of any nature whatsoever is accepted by or attaches to the company and any of the people involved in the planning, organisation, day to day coordination, ride leadership and administration of the Trip."
